BVG sells more than one million 9-euro tickets

Bilanz 9-Euro-Ticket nach Pfingsten

Berlin's public transport company BVG has sold more than one million 9-euro tickets up to and including Whit Monday.

"We are very pleased with the strong response to the ticket promotion across all sales channels," a spokesperson announced on Tuesday (June 08, 2022). Around 844,000 of the tickets sold were for the month of June. With the promotional ticket, passengers can use local public transport throughout Germany for one month in June, July and August.

"Overall, we were well prepared."

The ticket did not lead to an excessive rush on BVG buses and trains over the Petecost weekend, the company added. "Passenger demand was comparable to other long weekends with summer weather," the BVG spokesperson said. "Overall, we were well prepared." Only on the bus line 218 between Messe and Pfaueninsel as well as on the ferry F10 between Wannsee and Kladow things had briefly become crowded on Sunday afternoon.
