9-euro ticket included for students and trainees

9-Euro-Ticket

Berlin's approximately 600,000 schoolchildren, students and trainees do not need to buy the 9-euro ticket separately.

With their valid season tickets, such as the semester ticket or the free student ticket, they automatically participate in the 9-euro ticket promotion. The Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) informs on their website: "All holders of VBB subscriptions automatically participate in the 9-euro ticket campaign." These customers would have to do nothing further. A train trip to the Baltic Sea or a city break across Germany without buying an extra ticket - that's possible in June, July and August.

Partial reimbursement of semester ticket costs for students

University students can have part of the cost of their semester ticket refunded, but it is not yet clear when and how the refund will be made. Holders of a free student ticket are not entitlemed to a refund. According to the Berlin-Brandenburg Statistics Office, there are more than 360,000 schoolchildren, 200,000 students and 37,000 trainees in Berlin.
