According to the education administration, the team members, including native speakers, are selected in cooperation with independent youth welfare organisations such as Wildwasser e.V.. They are trained in social pedagogy. In addition, the Senate Administration has produced flyers with information on youth welfare, unaccompanied minor refugees or child protection - also in English, Russian and Ukrainian. And last but not least, according to its own information, the Senate Administration has taken over the care of more than 200 children in care from Ukraine.
Mobile team wears red waistcoats with logo
The mobile team - recognisable by red waistcoats with the logo mobile team child protection/youth welfare - was set up quickly and unbureaucratically and brought to the main station, said Senator for Education Astrid-Sabine Busse (SPD). "In this way, we are sending a stop signal to dishonest people who want to take advantage of the situation of the refugees. At the same time, we are providing immediate help for the children and young people after the highly disturbing experiences in their home country and the hardships of the flight."
