After a long time of closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic, clubs in Berlin are expected to be allowed to open again from the first week of March.
The planned re-opening date for clubs in Berlin was discussed during the conference of minister presidents on February 16, 2022, and is scheduled for March 4. From then on, the so-called 2G plus rule is expected to apply, meaning that all clubgoers need to provide proof of vaccination or recovery as well as a negative Coronavirus test.
The club re-opening is part of the larger three-step plan to ease the pandemic-related restrictions on public life. An initial easing of restrictions was already introduced last Friday (Feb. 18, 2022) when the 2G mandate for retail stores, museums, galleries and zoos in Berlin was lifted. Further steps are schedules for the upcoming four weeks.
Concerning the planned further opening measures, Berlin's Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey said: "There is agreement to proceed cautiously and gradually as far as openings are concerned. Nevertheless, we note that the current situation already allows for the relaxation of certain restrictions." According to a press release published by the Press and Information Office of the State of Berlin on February 18, 2022, Giffey spoke of a "clear schedule" for planned openings in the coming weeks.
