Mamlok was a Jewish resistance fighter from Kreuzberg.

Blücherplatz in Kreuzberg is now called Eva-Mamlok-Platz. The square in front of the Central and State Library was officially renamed this afternoon and now honours Eva Mamlok and her anti-fascist resistance.

A memorial was erected to mark the inauguration. According to a press release, District Mayor Clara Herrmann said: "Eva Mamlok was a Jewish woman from Kreuzberg who courageously resisted the Nazi dictatorship even as a teenager. Eva-Mamlok-Platz highlights this Jewish and female resistance in our district and gives it a permanent place in our culture of remembrance." She added that this memorial also serves as a call to action for the present day to take a firm stand against anti-Semitism.

Mamlok was already standing up for what she believed in at the age of 14

According to information from the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg District Office, Eva Mamlok (1918–1944) was a member of the resistance against National Socialism in Kreuzberg. It is said that, at the age of just 14, she painted the words "Down with Hitler!" in white paint on the roof of what was then the Tietz department store at Hallesches Tor. She was briefly detained as a result.
