Another citizens' office was inaugurated on Rosenthaler Kirchstraße. It is the fifth in the Pankow district and is intended to fill a gap in northern Berlin.
With the new citizens' office, many residents of Pankow can now handle administrative matters such as applying for identification documents or resident parking permits closer to home and with less time spent traveling. This is expected to benefit, above all, people living in the neighborhoods of Rosenthal, Wilhelmsruh and Französisch Buchholz.
Cordelia Koch, the mayor of the Pankow district, said at the opening ceremony: "With the new citizens' office on Kirchstraße, Berlin’s municipal administration will be more accessible to many people in northern Pankow." Pankow is Berlin’s most populous district and continues to grow, Koch noted. That is why it is important for citizen services to keep pace, she said. Regular operations at the new citizens' office will begin on Thursday.
