Due to construction work, large sections of the S-Bahn network in southeast Berlin are set to be closed for more than three weeks.

S-Bahn service will be completely suspended from this coming Friday evening through July 6 between the stations Altglienicke, Grünau, Spindlersfeld, Schöneweide, and Baumschulenweg, according to Deutsche Bahn. Deutsche Bahn is working on the Schöneweide electronic signal box. According to the railway company, this requires, among other things, the installation of more than 360 signals and beacons, as well as the laying of approximately 256,000 meters of signal cable. The lines affected are the S8, S85, S46, S47, and S9.
