First, winter dragged on for a long time this year—and then we’re already having warm, summery days in early May. The season kicked off on May 1 at three outdoor pools in Berlin, and many swimmers enjoyed the sun.
The Prinzenbad in Kreuzberg was quite crowded. The Kombibad Seestraße in Wedding and the Strandbad Wannsee were also already open. It was supposed to get even warmer on Sunday. However, it will turn very cool again later in the week, so you should make the most of the first weekend in May.
The Gropiusstadt summer pool will open on May 9. Weather permitting, the Neukölln, Humboldthain, Insulaner, and Pankow pools are scheduled to open on the Pentecost weekend. All other pools will start the season on June 1. The season normally runs until the end of Berlin’s summer vacation at the end of August. If the weather cooperates, there is a possibility of extending the season.
