Pollen season begins in Berlin

With the mild and dry weather, the start of the pollen season in Berlin is expected shortly. "The pollen break was very long, but now nature can no longer be stopped," said Matthias Werchan from the German Pollen Information Service Foundation.

"We can expect hazel pollen counts to really take off now." According to the German Weather Service, temperatures in Berlin and Brandenburg are expected to rise to around 18 degrees Celsius by Friday. Alder pollen will also soon be floating around the city, said expert Werchan. However, it will take about a week before it really starts to bloom. The hazel season, on the other hand, could already reach its seasonal peak in the coming days.
