The DDR Museum is expanding its offerings: In Marzahn, the new storage facility offers a glimpse into one of the largest collections of everyday objects from the GDR.

Over the past two decades, the museum has amassed some 400,000 everyday objects from the GDR. This unique collection has now found a new home in two modern halls that form the heart of the storage facility. There, a multifaceted center brings together research, restoration, and the preservation of GDR history - a place for discovery, remembrance and exploration. The Depot regularly hosts special exhibitions on topics that have received little attention at the GDR Museum to date. The museum also offers training in the conservation of historical objects.
