Haus des Papiers

Haus des Papiers

Much more than just origami: Since the end of May 2021, the Haus des Papiers (House of Paper) has been dedicated to the entire spectrum of paper art.

The paper art museum focuses primarily on the sculptural aspect of paper art. Visitors to the museum quickly realize just how versatile this delicate and seemingly fragile material can be in art. Filigree and ethereal works alternate with pieces that are downright forceful and compact.

International paper art and outstanding works

The Haus des Papiers showcases international paper art from both the museum's own collection and on loan. In addition, rotating exhibitions feature works by Paper Residency fellows and pieces honored with the annual Paper Art Award. Among the works on display are pieces by numerous internationally established artists such as Rosemarie Trockel, Leiko Ikemura, Monica Bonvicini, Thea Djordjadze, Christiane Feser, Angela Glajcar and Oskar Holweck.
