  • Trabi Museum Berlin

The Trabi Museum Berlin, located near Checkpoint Charlie, is dedicated to the East German duroplast car and its history.

Eighty percent of East German citizens drove a Trabant, making the "Rennpappe" (racing cardboard), as it was affectionately called, the Volkswagen of the GDR. Since 2013, the Trabi Museum Berlin has been dedicated to this two-stroke car and its history. Among the exhibits are rarities such as the Trabant P70 with a wooden chassis and the racing Trabi. Visitors can also see a Trabi with a camping tent on the roof, in which the owners slept while camping or on vacation trips.
