Deutsche Kinemathek - Museum of Film and Television

E-Werk Mauerstr.

The Deutsche Kinemathek is set to reopen in 2025 in the E-Werk (pictured above) in Mauerstraße.

The Deutsche Kinemathek - Museum of Film and Television Berlin displays collections of film and television history. The museum provides visitors with an insight into the exciting development of both media from their creation to the present day.

The Museum of Film and Television illustrates more than 100 years of German film history and 50 years of German television history - this concept is unique in Europe. The exhibitions draw on the rich collections that the Deutsche Kinemathek has amassed since its foundation in 1963.

Deutsche Kinemathek at new location from 2026

The Deutsche Kinemathek is moving and will be located in the E-Werk in Mauerstraße in Berlin-Mitte from 2026. The museum at Potsdamer Platz will remain permanently closed. Exhibition operations will resume at the new location in early 2026.
