With countless pale pink cherry blossoms, the Gardens of the World in Marzahn welcome the long-awaited spring.

The pale pink cherry blossoms are a clear sign: spring is here! Thee Cherry Blossom Festival is held every year in April. It takes place in the Gardens of the World in the district of Marzahn. Around 25,000 visitors are expected to attend each year.

Hanami in Berlin

The festival takes place on the occasion of "Hanami", which means "looking at blossoms" in Japanese and refers to the traditional Japanese cherry blossom festival. In Japan, the cherry blossom is regarded as a symbol of transience and beauty because it can only be admired for a few days each year. Visitors of Cherry Blossom Festival in the Gardens of the World can look forward to a wide-ranging entertainment and stage program in the Japanese, Chinese and Korean gardens.

Cherry Blossom Festival with Dancers and Drummers

The entertainment offerings range from dancing and singing to drumming, arts and crafts, and many culinary delights. The program is deliberately structured in a way that represents the Japanese, Chinese and Korean cultures with their culture and gastronomy in a respectful and balanced way in special themed areas.
