With countless pale pink cherry blossoms, the Gardens of the World in Marzahn welcome the long-awaited spring.
The delicate pink cherry blossoms are a clear sign: spring has arrived. In its honor, the Cherry Blossom Festival will be celebrated for the 19th time in April at the Gardens of the World in the Marzahn district in 2027. Around 25,000 visitors are expected to attend.
The festival takes place on the occasion of "Hanami", which means "looking at blossoms" in Japanese and refers to the traditional Japanese cherry blossom festival. In Japan, the cherry blossom is regarded as a symbol of transience and beauty because it can only be admired for a few days each year. Visitors of Cherry Blossom Festival in the can look forward to a wide-ranging entertainment and stage program in the Japanese, Chinese and Korean gardens.
The lineup ranges from dance and song to drumming and arts and crafts as well as culinary delights. The program has been deliberately structured to ensure that the Japanese, Chinese and Korean sections are presented in a balanced way, showcasing their respective cultures and cuisines. A special highlight is the classic fashion show on Sunday. The playground with XXL games is also particularly popular with families.
