Steglitz: Residential Areas & Infrastructure

Berlin-Steglitz is characterized by mixed residential areas, good transport connections and upmarket prices.

Residential Areas

Steglitz itself is still very urban with mixed rents. Lankwitz and Lichterfelde have a more small-town feel.

Location

Steglitz is located in the southwest of Berlin. The Steglitz district of Lichterfelde borders the state of Brandenburg.

Public Transport

Public transport mainly serves Schloßstraße, where both an S-Bahn (S1) and an underground line (U9) run. If you live a little further away, there are some buses that serve the rest of the district. Lankwitz and Lichterfelde also have an S-Bahn line (S26) and bus services.

Transport axes

The city highway A103, which leads into the A100 highway, leads through Steglitz. Main traffic axes are Unter den Eichen/Schloßstraße/Rheinstraße later Hauptstraße (partly B1), Grunewaldstraße/Albrechtstraße/Steglitzer Damm in the west-east direction, and Münsterdamm/Siemensstraße/ Ostpreußendamm.
