The Paul-Löbe-Haus is a parliament building in Berlin's government quarter and is a landmark in the Mitte district with its appealing architecture. Together with other government buildings, it is part of the Federal Ribbon.

Opened in 2001, the Paul-Löbe-Haus is a parliamentary building in Berlin's government quarter designed by Munich architect Stephan Braunfels. Together with the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus and the Chancellery, the building named after the President of the Reichstag, Paul Löbe, forms the "Band des Bundes" ("Federal Ribbon"). This ribbon is intended to symbolize the symbolic bridging of the once separated halves of the city.

Unity on the Spree: Paul-Löbe-Haus and Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus

Another architectural eye-catcher is the unity that the Paul-Löbe-Haus forms with the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus on the other bank of the Spree. This unity is created on the one hand by the matching roof edges of the buildings, but also by the bridge that connects the two. The entrance is located under the monumental canopy of the Paul-Löbe-Haus, which leads visitors directly into a glass hall that extends through the entire building. This hall is bordered on the left and right by two eight-storey building blocks.

Function of the Paul-Löbe-Haus

Covering 61,000 square meters with a total of 1,700 rooms, the building houses all the functional areas required for the smooth running of parliament. These include offices available to Members of Parliament, meeting rooms, committee offices and the Bundestag visitor service.
