Voya Games Secures $5M for Web3 Gaming Ecosystem

Voya Games has closed a $5 million funding round to accelerate development of its Web3 gaming ecosystem, centered around the casual game Craft World.

The investment was led by 1kx and Makers Fund, with additional backing from RockawayX and notable gaming industry angels.

According to reporting from GamesBeat, the funding for Voya Games will support Craft World’s growth and expansion of Voya’s broader vision: creating interconnected games unified by shared player ownership and digital economies.

Craft World, currently in testnet phase, has already attracted impressive numbers with over 240,000 registered players and 50,000 monthly active users. The resource management game features players working alongside dinosaurs to rebuild civilization after a meteor impact. Players learn about asset ownership and trading while progressing through the free-to-play experience available on iOS, Android, and web platforms.

The game has generated 1.1 million lifetime on-chain trades during testing, demonstrating early adoption of its Web3 elements. Two NFT collections are integrated into the gameplay and economy, with the Dyno Coin utility token serving as the connector across Voya’s planned gaming network.

Leading the company is CEO Oliver Löffler, previously founder of Kolibri Games and creator of Idle Miner Tycoon, which exceeded 100 million downloads before Ubisoft’s nine-figure acquisition. Co-founders Florian Dreschner and Dino Erdmann bring additional technical and creative expertise.

“Our goal is to build a token ecosystem where games are connected through a shared player economy and culture,” Löffler explained. The team plans to launch Craft World out of testing this summer, positioning it as the foundation for their interconnected gaming ecosystem.

Peter Pan from 1kx praised the team’s approach, noting they’re “building a Web3 gaming ecosystem that prioritizes openness and ownership, treating the game world more like a public good than a closed economy.”
