Mayor and Senator for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, Franziska Giffey: “The Berlin games industry has long been an important and highly innovative sector of the economy. It is therefore a logical step for the Senate to now place Berlin’s games policy entirely under the jurisdiction of the Department of Economics. With the House of Games Berlin, we are laying the foundation for a place where all the important players in the industry can come together, not only in Berlin, but as a Germany-wide contact point. We want to further strengthen Berlin as a leading location for the games industry with projects such as the House of Games and strong games promotion by the Medienboard. I would like to thank everyone involved for their very successful work on the House of Games Berlin so far, in particular the medianet network association, the game association and the company Ubisoft. We are now on the home stretch toward the opening of this unique flagship
project for GamesCapitalBerlin and Germany.”
