#GamesCapitalBerlin at gamescom 2025

When the exhibition halls in Cologne open in August, it will finally be time for gamescom again!

#GamesCapitalBerlin certainly won’t be missing out on the world’s largest computer and video game trade fair. Where better to showcase the potential of the capital region?

Our goal is clear: to strengthen the games industry, expand the regional games ecosystem, and further establish GamesCapitalBerlin as a leading location in Europe,’ emphasises Michael Biel, Berlin’s State Secretary for the Economy. ‘An important milestone is the ‘House of Games,’ whose property was unveiled in June and which will open in 2026. It will be a place where creatives, studios, talents, and startups can come together, benefit from one another, and jointly shape the future of the industry,” continues State Secretary Biel. ‘Until then, our booth at gamescom is an ideal meeting place for networking, forming new partnerships, and gaining deeper insights into Berlin’s gaming economy.’ You can find out more about these highlights here:

  • 7:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
  • “the view” Cologne
  • Kennedy-Ufer 11, 50679 Cologne

In 2026, one of Germany’s most exciting gaming projects will open in the heart of Berlin: The House of Games Berlin will offer over 10,000 m² of space for the entire gaming ecosystem. This will be celebrated at the House of Games Reception, organised by the steering committee consisting of WISTA Management GmbH, medianet berlinbrandenburg e. V., game – Verband der Deutschen Games-Branche (German Games Industry Association) and Ubisoft Berlin. The highlight of the evening will be the unveiling of the brand-new House of Games Berlin brand design!

The reception will be opened by representatives of the House of Games (HoG) steering committee: Jeannine Koch (Chairwoman of the Board and Managing Director of medianet), Alexander Danisch (Workplace and Property Director at Ubisoft) and Roland Sillmann (Managing Director of WISTA Management GmbH). The guest of honour, Lothar Sattler (Head of Department I, Federal and European Affairs, Media Policy at the Berlin Senate Chancellery), will also be in attendance.

The steering committee will bring together individuals interested in the project on this evening, share more detailed information about House of Games Berlin and offer an opportunity for direct interaction with the committee members. Whether you are an AAA company (such as anchor tenant Ubisoft), an indie studio or a service provider, and whether you are involved in development, culture or gamification, there is still room for interested games companies from all over the world who want to establish a foothold in Berlin.

Please note: this is an invite-only event.
