Financial Times: Kolibri Games is Europe’s fastest growing Game Studio

With the 6th place in the FT 1000 — Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies 2021 Kolibri claimed the title as Europe´s fastest growing game studio in 2021. The developer from Berlin is known for their mobile-titles Idle Miner Tycoon and Idle Factory Tycoon, which together were downloaded more than 100 million times already.

These numbers speak for themselves: In the founding year, 2016, the sales were around 430K Euro, in 2019 they reached a turnover of 53 million Euro. Following this, the interest of big companies to invest in Kolibri Games started and in 2020 Ubisoft took over the mobile studio for around 115 million Euro.

Now, around one year after the acquisition by Ubisoft, the three founders of Kolibri Games Janosch Sadowski, Daniel Stammler and Oliver Löffler announced that they will leave the company by the end of April 2021. They have fulfilled their goals with the company and are looking for new adventures now. In the future we will see them as Business Angels, as they want to invest in tech and internet start-ups.
