A whole week of games business in Berlin: Wooga, Games Ground and more

When Games Ground returns to Berlin from November 5–8, the festival will be at the center of an entire week of games business, international exchange and community across the GamesCapitalBerlin. From an industry event at Wooga and an international delegation to investment talks, curated publisher matchmaking and the official Games Ground evening reception, GamesCapitalBerlin is bringing the local and international games ecosystem together throughout the week.

The GamesCapitalBerlin week starts at Wooga

The week kicks off on November 2 with After Hours – Berlin Game Dev Talks at Berlin-based Wooga, one of the capital’s best-known mobile game studios and the company behind June’s Journey.

Bringing the industry together directly at the home of an established Berlin studio sets the tone for the days ahead: Games Ground week is not only about one festival venue, but about opening up Berlin’s wider games ecosystem and connecting international guests with the companies and people behind it.

International games industry meets Berlin

On November 4, GamesCapitalBerlin welcomes several international delegations and games industry representatives to the capital ahead of Games Ground.

Among them is a high-level Japanese delegation with representatives from JETRO – Japan External Trade Organization, SEGA, indie studios and further industry organizations. Delegations from Sweden and France will also participate, alongside additional guests from international games ecosystems.

The program gives international guests the opportunity to get to know Berlin’s games ecosystem first-hand, meet local companies and institutions and establish new connections ahead of Games Ground.

International Games Reception: bringing the ecosystems together

The international program culminates on the evening of November 4 with the International Games Reception Berlin 2026.

The Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, House of Games Berlin, and GamesGround invite around 120 guests from Berlin and the international games ecosystems for a reception.

The guest list will include international delegations and business representatives, developers and publishers, Berlin-based games companies and start-ups, investors and business angels, funding institutions, universities, networks, associations and political and ecosystem partners.

Two days for the international games industry

Games Ground officially opens at Alte Münze on November 5, starting with two dedicated Business Days on November 5 and 6.

Across talks, panels, workshops and fireside chats, international experts discuss game design, technology, art, audio, business and some of the wider challenges shaping the games industry.

The 2026 programme brings speakers from companies including Guerrilla Games, CD PROJEKT RED, Ubisoft, Supercell, Blizzard Entertainment, Unity, Raw Fury and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg to Berlin.

Beyond the stages, formats including Mentor Ground, Career Ground and Indie Ground focus on practical exchange, talent development and new industry connections. Mentor Ground alone offers more than 70 sessions with over 40 mentors covering topics ranging from game production and programming to studio founding, technical art and portfolio reviews.

Publisher Connect: turning pitches into partnerships

A particular focus for GamesCapitalBerlin is Publisher Connect, the festival’s curated hybrid matchmaking programme for developers, publishers and investors.

Supported by the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, Publisher Connect runs across four days and combines digital meetings on November 3 and 4 with face-to-face matchmaking during the Games Ground Business Days on November 5 and 6.

Rather than leaving networking to chance, participating developers and potential partners can find together according to individual focus, portfolio and interests. Studios can pitch their projects directly to relevant publishers and investors, while participating companies receive access to selected games and development teams.

The program connects studios with partners from Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa and includes publishers such as SEGA and Raw Fury. Participating studios also receive pre-event support to prepare their pitches and presentations.

Where is games investment heading next?

Financing is also at the center of the medianet GAMES Investment Summit, taking place during Games Ground for the third time.

The invitation-based format brings together international investors, business angels and games industry experts to discuss how the investment landscape is changing, which trends are driving funding decisions and what investors are currently looking for in games companies.

Over its previous editions, the summit has built a dedicated network of investors that returns to Berlin to exchange perspectives on the market and identify new developments and opportunities.

This year’s speakers include Trisha Lee from KRAFTON, Jason Della Rocca from Execution Labs and Nicholas Douzinas from Dot Play.

From matchmaking to meeting in person

After a full first Business Day, the conversations continue away from the conference floor.

On November 5 from 7:30 to 10 PM, medianet berlinbrandenburg and Games Ground host the medianet GAMES Matchmaking Reception at The Social Hub Berlin, the official evening event of the first Games Ground Business Day.

The reception brings together international speakers, partners, publishers, studios, international guests and selected members of the games and creative-tech community in a more informal setting.

From business to community

On November 7 and 8, the focus shifts from business to gaming culture as Games Ground opens its Public Days.

Visitors can expect playable games, tournaments, cosplay, workshops, live music, trading card games, board games, LAN gaming, XR experiences and an extensive indie exhibition.

A new addition in 2026 is Dominion Days, dedicating an entire hall to strategy games, with tournaments, playable titles, developer talks and the strategy community coming together throughout the weekend.
