The Ancestral Supper is a new interdisciplinary work exploring ancestral legacy, with integrations of ancestral song, ritual, and gesture. Dramaturgical prompts allow space for improvisation, intuition, and embodied explorations of what it means to be a child of the diaspora. Meaningful moments in ancestors’ lives draw parallels with contemporary realities of today, in a resonant narrative from past to future.
Diasporakidz is Benita Bailey and Sarah Rossy: a German-Canadian collective of interdisciplinary artists on a multi-year journey of ancestral inquiry. The collective's research has unveiled a deep journey of decolonizing the creative process with deep self, group and ancestral listening.
