FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 – We own the Game

Pure passion, female empowerment and world-class basketball: from September 4 to 13, 2026, Berlin will be transformed into the international stage of women's basketball! In the Berlin Arena and the Max-Schmeling-Halle, the 16 best teams in the world will compete for the crown of basketball. It is the first Women's World Championship on German soil since 1998 - it will be an unforgettable sporting highlight.

Germany in the spotlight

Following its recent successes, the German women's national team is generating excitement and visibility: Olympic qualification in 2024, Olympic gold in 3x3 and a historic 5th place at the Women's EuroBasket 2025 have catapulted the team into the international spotlight. And now the next step is to be taken in front of a home crowd. Together with the hosts, Belgium, the USA, Nigeria and Australia have already qualified for the tournament. In March 2026, the last eleven tickets for the tournament will be decided in a thrilling qualifying tournament.

Experience world stars up close

Look forward to the biggest names in basketball: Emma Meesmann leads Belgium as an absolutely exceptional player, while A'ja Wilson wants to conquer the world stage with Team USA. For Germany, the Sabally sisters, Leonie Fiebich, Luisa Geiselsöder and shooting star Frieda Bühner will take center stage - players who not only shape the game, but also inspire entire generations and are considered role models for girls and young women all over the world.
