Karolina Trybała lives and works at the intersection of cultures, traveling across Europe as both a singer and an educator. For years, she has dedicated herself—with a powerful voice and great passion—to the Jewish music of Galicia, the region where her ancestors originated.

The project *TATE-MAME* [Yiddish: parents; Polish: mom and dad] began as a musical quest to trace her roots. Her research for the project resulted in the *TATE-MAME* songbook, a workshop format, and a concert program.

On stage, Karolina presents favorite songs from her *LIDER BIKHL* (Songbook): Klezmer classics, vintage tangos, and songs from the Jewish theaters of Lwów (Lviv), Kraków, and New York—cities to which many Galician artists emigrated. With authenticity and elegance, she interprets both well-known and forgotten musical treasures in Yiddish and Polish, as well as in German, English, and Hebrew. Poetic and captivating, the performance builds a bridge between the past and the present—where tradition meets a zest for life.

Karolina is accompanied by virtuoso musicians Mateusz Tadeusz Dudek (accordion) from Kraków and the fiery violinist Alexander Bersutsky from Odessa.

Karolina and her team of artists and experts explored the connections and traces of Polish-Jewish culture—past and present—while investigating the multitude of influences and identities that shape Jewish life in Europe.

With *TATE-MAME*, Karolina aims to encourage engagement with Yiddish and Jewish culture—elements that should play a greater role in cultural dialogue, as this part of history is a vital component of Europe’s cultural diversity.
