Dreams come true in the capital: the Friedrichstadt-Palast will be presenting the Grand Show “Blinded by Delight” on the world's largest theater stage.

The new production transports the audience into grandiose dream worlds and is a passionate dance of great emotions. In times like these, it's easy to forget how beautiful life could be. Together with the US star designer Jeremy Scott, the creative team has therefore created an overwhelming reminder of happiness for all the senses.

Blinded by Delight at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin

What would it be like to wake up in a world of happiness? When the protagonist Luci opens her eyes, she is surrounded by her most beautiful unlived dreams. The splendor of this dream world is breathtaking, her old life just a distant echo. Every room that opens up to her is a symphony of unimagined possibilities. The production, which cost over 14 million euros, is based on an idea by Berndt Schmidt and Oliver Hoppmann. Director and producer Berndt Schmidt explains the background:“We live in times that challenge us and sometimes depress us. What would it be like to wake up in a world of happiness? “Blinded by Delight” is a delightful escape from the gray everyday life. A moving love story that immerses our guests in surreally beautiful dream worlds. I am overjoyed that we were able to recruit Jeremy Scott for our creative dream team, because I love his work. Jeremy's moving biography is also living proof that you can live your dreams if you believe you can.”

Blinded by Delight is an overwhelming reminder of happiness for all the senses

Who knows, maybe at the beginning of every change there is a dream that wants to be held on to and won't fade away. Blinded describes how Luci is completely overwhelmed by her emotions. Delight are the intoxicating, almost ecstatic feelings that envelop her. Luci is so caught up in the happiness of her dreams and her romantic feelings that she wonders whether it can all be true or whether it will shatter in the next blink of an eye.

Is it all a lie or love?

Blinded by Delight in Berlin expresses this emotional dichotomy and can be translated as “blinded by delight” or “enchanted by happiness”. A passionate dance of great emotions.
