In the first two years of the studies of Contemporary Puppetry, the students complete a total of six scene studies in which they are taught about the diverse forms of puppet theater. At the beginning of the fifth semester, they can either work more deeply within one of the disciplines presented or they can experiment with an unconventional form. Over the course of „PULS & PEILUNG“, nine students present three very different artistic investigations. It tells the story of the speedy fall of the beloved snob Colin, whose world, just like his house, increasingly falls apart. He is accompanied by characters like Chloé, who falls ill from a water lily in the lung, the obsessive Chick or the radicalized Alise. In a grotesque, exuberant display of visual fireworks, the material becomes a dazzling yet razor-sharp portrait of social relationships. 19:30 Uhr Work-in-Progress Showing II: Object and Material Theater Jannik Bursee / Xeno Scholpp / Akira Schroth Objects accompany us through our everyday lives: we buy them, use them, fight over them, collect them or throw them away. They mostly remain silent – invisible companions in the background. In this work-in-progress showing, they take the spotlight and become actors, bearers of memories and narrators of their own stories. Movement arises from material, meaning arises from movement. Somewhere between play, experiment and poetry, objects and fantasies are woven together into new stories. Jannik Bursee, Xeno Scholpp and Akira Schroth invite to you join a special encounter with object and material theater. 21:00 Uhr Work-in-Progress Showing III: Physical Theatre Sarah Hohendahl / Line Hünken / Lena Schilf In physical theatre, the body is the point of departure and reference point for theatrical research and artistic design processes. For this work-in-progress showing, Sarah Hohendahl, Line Hünken and Lena Schilf combine these practices with those of puppetry, explore them further from a feminist perspective and add their own artistic focal points to them. Somewhere between material, puppet, mask, space, object and body, new dimensions of performance, manipulation and embodiment are opened.
