Longtime musical partners sometimes become friends, and out of long friendships, sometimes new musical projects are born. So it was with violinist and conductor Thomas Zehetmair and pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard, who have performed together in many orchestral concerts and now come to the Pierre Boulez Saal as a chamber music duo. Their program combines works by Arnold Schoenberg and Elliott Carter with Schumann’s First Violin Sonata and Schubert’s late C-major Fantasy.
