For millennia, people have gazed at the sky—in search of guidance, answers, and stories. Stars and planets have shaped calendars and holidays, aided in navigation, and influenced our view of the world across cultures. The planetarium is part of a long tradition: It is the modern embodiment of a long line of places and inventions that have served humanity’s exploration of the starry sky and the cosmos around us.With immersive real-image footage, breathtaking star projections, and 360° animations, the Fulldome program traces humanity’s evolving conception of the sky over the millennia.“Our Celestial History” is narrated by the renowned voice actor Hans Peter Bögel. The immersive sound was created by Leipzig-based 3D audio artist Felix Deufel, who designed the program as an immersive surround-sound experience.© Tobias WiethoffTranslated with DeepL
