Das Orchestrion »Fratihymnia«, gebaut um 1900 von der Firma Cocchi, Bacigalupo & Graffigna in Berlin – Das Orchestrion »Fratihymnia«, gebaut um 1900 von der Firma Cocchi, Bacigalupo & Graffigna in Berlin ist eines der gezeigten mechanischen Musikinstrumente in MUSICA DI STRADA.

Before the gramophone and radio made music accessible to the masses, only mechanical instruments made it possible to enjoy music without musicians. Playing pianos and orchestrions could be found in restaurants and dance halls. The barrel organ - the "hurdy-gurdy" - could be found on streets, in backyards and at fairgrounds. Here, organ grinders played popular street songs and brought music to the city.

Immerse yourself in this bygone era and experience the sound of mechanical musical instruments in a one-hour live performance.
