Museum employee Karin Dömsky introduces the exhibition format and commemorates the Berlin engraver Johann August Eduard Mandel (1810-1882).
in 1985, the Berlin Senate acquired drawings, etchings and a small box containing 30 tools from the artist's estate. Mandel produced masterful reproductions of works by "old masters", including works by Raphael, Anthonis van Dyck and Titian.
Karin Dömsky, archivist and member of staff in the Prints and Drawings Department at the Stadtmuseum Berlin, will provide information about the object of the month on "Sunday in the Nikolai Quarter" - a presentation in the salon of the Ephraim-Palais Museum, which is open to the public free of charge on all days the museum is open. The changing objects on display there present new acquisitions, provide insights into projects of the Stadtmuseum Berlin or tell stories from Berlin's past.
