Long Night of the Museums 2026

Crime in Berlin

Schloss Charlottenburg in der Abenddämmerung – Schloss Charlottenburg in der Abenddämmerung

Schloss Charlottenburg in der Abenddämmerung – Schloss Charlottenburg in der Abenddämmerung

For the Long Night of Museums, we are opening the New Wing, which was built starting in 1740 for King Frederick II. Later, Queen Luise and other members of the royal family lived here. After being destroyed during World War II, the New Wing was rebuilt. Today, it houses banquet halls and living quarters that have been faithfully restored, as well as impressive collections of 18th- and 19th-century artworks.

Gain insights into the history of the palace through short guided tours or with live narrators, or use our app to enhance your visit. Readings and lectures focus on murder investigations in 1920s Berlin and on Schönhausen Palace as the scene of the “Degenerate Art” campaign during the Nazi era. For all amateur detectives—young and young at heart—we’ve developed a new detective game in collaboration with the neighboring museums: Can you solve the case?

Drinks and snacks are available in front of the palace.
