It is the sweet world of chocolate and its temptations that the KMZ Kollektiv delves into with stories from their childhood in Nord and Central America. Full of playful delight, they lead the audience through the history of cocoa from the age of the Mayan to the present day. The enslavement of children on cocoa plantations and the manipulative tricks of the confectionery industry are both addressed, as is the question of a better and fairer way to sweet happiness. In an interactive theatre space with video and live music, Kakao tastes and touches us and reveals the stories behind the beautiful and colourful packaging. Notes on accessibility: Information about the accessibility of the venue in structural terms can be found here.
