Bach: Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin

“The greatness of this music cannot be comprehended through analytical formulas,” says Isabelle Faust of Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas. Even after years of exploring the composer’s oeuvre, she is still left “stunned and often also baffled by a masterpiece of this stature.” Her performance of the six Sonatas and Partitas represents a snapshot of this ongoing artistic process, while also building on her celebrated Bach programs of previous seasons.
