Guided Tour for Preschool and School Classes

During a 60-minute tour of the Archenhold Observatory, pupils immerse themselves in the fascinating world of astronomy and experience three special stations. At the famous giant telescope, the longest movable refracting telescope in the world, the focus is on the impressive instrument. It is presented and its function is clearly explained. In the solar system exhibition room, the focus is on a real fragment of the Arizona meteorite. It can not only be viewed, but also touched, allowing visitors to directly experience the traces from space. The tour ends under the planetarium dome, where the current starry sky is vividly explained and the tour is rounded off in an atmospheric way.

The Archenhold Observatory is one of the most special places for astronomy: it is the oldest and largest public observatory in Germany and is home to the longest movable telescope in the world.

The format is moderated live and is flexibly adapted to the respective age group and the learning requirements of the group.
