With the Gesundbrunnen streetcar depot in 1926, the Berlin architect Jean Krämer created impressive workshops that combine the clear forms of New Objectivity with expressive motifs and are still dedicated to movement today - as they were in the BVG era. On Open Monument Day, the former ensemble can be explored in its current use as a research and production site for contemporary dance.
In the guided tours, we offer an insight into the beauty of former industrial buildings and their current use. We also show how, thanks to a joint approach, a large site could be rescued from a speculative exploitation dictate in favor of a rich cultural life.
In addition, on both days, visitors can attend performances by Tanzfabrik Berlin BÜHNE in Studio 14, as well as the Funkelfest Family Rave at the Heizhaus.
