The human body is at the center of many urgent current legal debates. Yet not all bodies are granted equal status or legal capacity under the law. Drawing on a wide range of practices and perspectives from the arts, the social sciences, law, and activism, this lecture series examines how the body is perceived and treated within the legal system. It explores how body-based knowledge can reveal ambiguities and gaps in legal structures and support the development of alternative models of justice.

Bodies of Law is curated by Sandra Noeth, with the support of Nevena Delić. The lectures featuring Banu Bargu and Arkadi Zaides are presented in collaboration with Critical Dance Studies at the Free University of Berlin.James MartelJanez Janša
