Kurze-Texte-Festival: Beziehungsweise

The “beziehungsweise” festival explores the interplay between personal and social relationships. How does one manifest itself in the other? And how can these relationships be portrayed on a linguistic and narrative level?

Relationships can be private, interpersonal, fulfilling, romantic, functional, or toxic. But the term “relationships” also refers to the circumstances in which people live within a social context, whether by choice or through involuntary dependence.

What role do social relationships play in social hierarchies? How are relationships shaped by material, symbolic, and emotional resources, and what mechanisms contribute to their stabilization or change? Literary texts offer an aesthetic approach to these questions. Beyond depicting individual relationships, they can reveal structural dimensions.

Over the course of five evenings, four authors will present short texts written specifically for the festival or being presented to the public for the first time. Each event will conclude with an hour of DJ sets.
