Gegenmacht: Ein Crashkurs für eine demokratische Offensive

The shift to the right is real, the fascisation of society is advancing – and so is the outrage over it. Yet there is a gap between analysis and action. The new discourse series by HAU and FragDenStaat aims to bridge this gap and take things a step further. How can anti-fascism work in practical terms? The series kicks off with an evening focusing on the Freedom of Information Act (IFG), which enables citizens to request access to public records. At present, senior government officials are calling for tighter restrictions that could make it impossible to submit questions – an attack on our democratic infrastructure. Yet the law has long since proven its effectiveness, from exposing lobbying influences to revealing explosive ministry documents.
