Children's Concert 1

Anne Hofmann

– Anne Hofmann

In this beloved piece, Benjamin Britten introduces us to the orchestra and all its instruments. We meet them as a variety of animals: sometimes chirping and nimble like a bird, sometimes deep and heavy like an elephant, sometimes gliding and shiny like a fish. It all begins with a single motif that comes again and again, gradually travelling through the whole orchestra. Along the way, we discover what the instruments have in common and what makes them different: high and low, bright and dark, loud and soft – it’s all there.

Artists/Collaborators: Geoffrey Loff (Musikalische Leitung), Vidina Popov (Sprecherin/Moderatorin), Orchester der Komischen Oper Berlin (Orchester)
