Klezmer and Yiddish Swing

The Ginzburg dynasty plays klezmer with all their hearts. They build a musical bridge from centuries-old tradition to modernity: Eastern European klezmer, swing, Yiddish chansons, Oriental pop, and the finest jazz.

The members of the Ginzburg family are sixth-generation professional musicians whose klezmer repertoire has been passed down, expanded, and perfected from generation to generation. Today, they are the only professional klezmer dynasty in Europe. Weddings and other Jewish celebrations are their specialty. Nevertheless, they are also masters of classical music, jazz, and dance music.

The Ginzburgs are multi-instrumentalists with a long family tradition that originated in Ukraine in Yekaterinoslav/Dnepropetrovsk/Dnepr. This is where the famous Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson worked and taught. The family was already well known in the 19th century. When the Ginzburg Ensemble played at a wedding, it was considered a very special honor.
