TANIA GIANNOULI & NILS PETTER MOLVÆR

Two of the most original voices of the European jazz scene, Greek pianist-composer Tania Giannouli and Norwegian trumpeter-composer Nils Petter Molvær recently joined forces for their first-ever duo project. Previously heard at the Pierre Boulez Saal in other formations, they now bring this new side of their artistry to Berlin. Their sophisticated and elegantly constructed music, anchored between stillness and subtle motion, evokes a multitude of influences, from cinematic soundscapes to hints of Arab-inspired jazz and traditional Indian music. The evening’s first half will feature both artists in individual solo sets.
