Equally at home in classical music, jazz, and improvisation, Patricia Brennan has performed at a wide range of venues from the Newport Jazz Festival to Carnegie Hall to Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. The Mexican-American vibraphonist and composer now comes to the Pierre Boulez Saal for the first time to present two distinct sets of world-premiere works. While her duo with guitarist Miles Okazaki explores intricate sonic textures and blurs the boundaries between composition and improvisation, the dynamic interplay of strings, percussion, and vibraphone in the Patricia Brennan Chamber Quartet creates a classically inspired sound world that is both intimate and expansive.
