Brooklyn-born Adam O’Farrill, son of a family of acclaimed musicians, has established himself as one of the jazz world’s most exciting young trumpet players, honored with major awards including the German Record Critics’ Prize for his 2021 album Visions of Your Other. For his Pierre Boulez Saal debut, he presents the world premiere of Valleys, a new project that continues his exploration of stylistic fluidity, gestural abstraction, and soulful melodies. The evening’s first part will feature an intimate duo performance with Portuguese trumpet player Susana Santos Silva; for the second half, he is joined in a trio set by South Korean cellist Okkyung Lee and English drummer Tom Skinner.
