After years of filming and collaboration, we are honored and excited to finally share Kilichobaki – What Remains with you.
Short SynopsisKilichobaki – What Remains follows communities in Northern Tanzania as they engage with a history that is often archived elsewhere. Through encounters with photographs of looted objects, stories passed down through generations, and discussions sparked by the traveling research exhibition Marajesho, the film explores how colonial violence continues to affect families, identities, and demands for restitution today. Rather than treating history as distant, the film shows how it is lived, remembered, and negotiated in the present.
Originalversion with English subtitles. 85 minutes. Diretors: Imelder Munyaga and Judith AlbrechtReception after the screening.
