Working with wood: Wood workshop

With Valentin José Kammel (wood sculptor and restorer)
This workshop offers a unique opportunity to look over the shoulder of carpenter and restorer Valentin José Kammel as he works and to have a go yourself. A tour of the exhibition allows participants to get a closer look. The wooden objects created by the Brücke artists reveal a great deal, providing insights into the tools, materials and manufacturing processes used. Practical exercises involving wood and specific tools will deepen participants’ understanding and offer a way to experience the art from different perspectives.
Valentin José Kammel is a carpenter, woodturner and trained restorer. He specialises in reconstructions, the marks and traces of tools and historical manufacturing techniques.
No prior knowledge is necessary. Please bring old clothes or a smock or similar.
We are committed to respectful interaction. Discriminatory behavior has no place at our events.
Due to the limited number of participants, please register here. Participation in public events is included with the museum admission. Meeting point: ticket counter in the foyer.
