Actress Silvia Ladewig takes on the role of the fictional villager Ursel. Let her take you on a journey back in time to the High Middle Ages! Ursel guides you through her village, telling you about her life as a German settler in a region inhabited by Slavs and about her daily life in the village.
Why did her family decide to settle here? What is life like living alongside their Slavic neighbors? What did she use to dye her woolen dress, and what does she need to make bread from grain? Together with Ursel, you’ll sit by the hearth in the house and learn how people in what is now Berlin and Brandenburg lived during the Middle Ages.
