As a musicologist, psychologist and experimental physicist, Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Reinecke (1926-2003) devoted himself, among other things, to room and building acoustics, the transmission of music through media and music perception.
Hans-Joachim Maempel's tour takes place in Department III of the State Institute for Music Research, which Reinecke founded in 1965 and headed until his retirement. in 1967, he was appointed director of the entire institute.
On display are the acoustic and studio rooms that Reinecke designed and whose construction he was responsible for as planning engineer until their completion in 1984. Reinecke's fundamental question about the change in the perception of music through its acoustic and electro-acoustic transmission became increasingly relevant in the course of the development of the media, became more and more differentiated and is still highly topical today.
PD Dr. Hans-Joachim Maempel has been head of Department III Acoustics and Music Technology, Studio Technology and IT at the State Institute for Music Research since 2012.
