Open Lab Evening: Human-Centered Design

Learning to Shape the Future

The future is uncertain—but we can shape it. You’ll learn how to do that at this Open Lab evening. You’ll be introduced to the Human-Centered Design method, which allows us to tackle complex problems in a creative and solution-oriented way.

Human-Centered Design places people at the heart of the innovation process. The goal is to develop solutions that are truly needed. In this workshop, we’ll delve deeply into the issue, develop empathy for different perspectives, and design initial prototypes for more climate-friendly agriculture.

We’ll focus on the relationship between people and machines, because technology today is much more than just a tool: it’s part of our everyday lives, influencing how we think and how we live together. We talk to machines, trust their decisions, and let them guide and advise us. Sometimes we even get the impression that they understand us emotionally. These interactions with technology are changing how we work, feel, and perceive ourselves. At the same time, we ask ourselves: What is there to gain—and to lose? And how do we want to shape our future with technology?

In this workshop, we’ll look ahead together:

-> How do we want to coexist with technology?

-> Which tasks should machines take on, and which should remain with us humans?

-> How are our bodies, our abilities, and our self-image changing as a result of technology?

-> What new forms of closeness, interaction, and relationships between humans and machines are emerging?
