If science is queen at Humboldt Lab, then #Logoskop is her court jester. Since 2021, artistic freedom has been making monthly appearances at Humboldt University’s exhibition space, using literature to shake up the scientific perspective. Equipped with microphones and amplifiers, two slam poets wander through the exhibition and recite texts.

This time, slam poets Jan Böttcher and Lucia Lucia will be joining us. Together, they will comment on the exhibition ‘On Water’ with live recitations. Visitors are invited to accompany them on their tour of eloquence.

Curated by Bas Böttcher

Tim Holland is an author, literary educator, and co-publisher at hochroth München. After training as a bookseller, he studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. His debut collection, vom wuchern, was published in 2016, followed in 2022 by the poetry collection wir zaudern, wir brennen from Matthes & Seitz Berlin.

In his writing, Tim Holland combines poetry with speculative thinking and explores new perspectives on the coexistence of humans, animals, and plants in a changing world. His long poem Die drei Jahreszeiten premiered as a kinetic installation at the Berlin Poetry Festival in 2023. His texts have been translated into Chinese, English, French, Romanian, Hungarian, and German Sign Language, among other languages.

A key focus of his artistic work is literary outreach. For many years, he has led multilingual and inclusive writing workshops and developed event formats centered on science fiction, speculative literature, and visions of the future. Together with Lukas Dubro, he edited the anthology Kollaps und Hope Porn – 13 Zukunftsaussichten.

Tim Holland has received numerous awards and fellowships for his literary work, including the German Prize for Nature Writing Fellowship, the ver.di Literature Prize Berlin-Brandenburg for poetry, and a residency fellowship at the Schöppingen Artists’ Village (2026).

Theresa Hahl was born in Heidelberg in 1989 and is one of the leading voices in the German-speaking spoken word and poetry slam scene. Since 2009, she has been developing stage formats, literary performances, and writing workshops in which she continually explores new possibilities of the spoken word.

After initial successes at the German-language poetry slam championships—first in the U20 category, and later as a multiple finalist in the adult championships—she established herself with a distinctive literary style. Among other honors, she received the Weiden Literature Prize and was the subject of the documentary film Dichter und Kämpfer, which premiered at the Berlinale in 2012.

Theresa Hahl regularly works on interdisciplinary projects that combine literature with theater, illustration, music, and digital media. Together with international partners, she has organized projects and writing workshops for the Goethe-Institut in Europe, Africa, and India. She has also been actively involved in inclusive and multilingual writing projects for many years.

For her literary work, she has received, among other honors, the writing fellowship from the Rhineland-Palatinate Foundation. Her texts have appeared in numerous anthologies and through various publishers, including Reclam and Lektora. In 2026, she published her poetry collection Aventiure.
