As part of the Festival of Industrial Culture, we’re showcasing works of art from Berlin’s Social Artist Support Program at the Depot Mariendorf.
Between 1951 and 2003, approximately 15,000 works of art by more than 2,000 artists were created as part of this support program. As a foundation affiliated with the Berlin Museum, the Foundation Archive of Berlin’s Social Artist Support Program catalogs this collection and makes it accessible to interested parties both within and outside the city.
This guided tour invites you to discover selected works that artistically explore the industrial history of West Berlin during the period of reconstruction following World War II. The focus is on fascinating insights into the interplay between art, labor, and urban transformation.
